Surrendering homestead
I declared chapter 7 in minnesota. I origionally listed my home as affirming the debt. I am considering changing it. I am behind at least 2 house payments and will be foreclosed on eventually. I have no interest in keeping the house any more and I owe more than it is worth. I have a couple questions:
1) Can I surrender my homestead and be free of owing the difference in what is owed and what it is worth? 2) There is also a HELOC from a different bank. Can they sue me for what I owe thme or it that wiped out by the bankruptcy? Thanks for the help
