Default Your Credit vs. Bankruptcy, Debt Consolidation & Debt Settlement Options

Here is some valuable information about preserving your all too important "GOOD CREDIT."

When we talk about credit, a VERY important topic, the first question you have to ask yourself is if you are planning on buying or leasing anything in the near future. If the answer is no, then credit is not that important in the immediate future.

If you are planning on leasing or buying any big items, such as a home or car, then the recommendation would be to FIRST make that purchase and then come back and find a solution for your debts because ALL solutions do affect your credit.

You have options of bankruptcy, consolidating, settling, taking on more debts, etc. What is the best?

If you have the time and energy, investigate all options. We have a lot of experience and over the years have referred people to all of the above options.

When it comes to credit, lenders look at your payment history, how much you make, your ability to take on NEW debt, and a variety of other things.

Bankruptcy is the worst on your credit and companies can ask if you have "ever filed bankruptcy" for the rest of your LIFE!

Consolidation only drags on your payments for a VERY long time and it potentially reflects as a chapter 13 BANKRUPTCY!

Debt settlement, on the other hand, show that accounts are not being paid while we negotiate. But, when settled for an agreed to amount, they are considered settled in full.

You benefit with the debt settlement option because you are able to be rid of your debts in the fastest time, have paid back an agreed-to amount, and can use a credit repair program when done to help clean things up.

At this point in time, the recommended plan of action is as follows:

1) Make any purchases you need (house, car, etc.)

2) Get into a debt settlement program that charges a commission on savings. This practically GUARANTEES that you will save the most MONEY. Make sure the company is a member of TASC, the D&B because that helps ensure that the company is solid and will be around to finish your program. Finally, make sure the company you are considering is a member of RatePoint with numerous positive complaints. RatePoint has a verification system to make sure all feedback is legitimate.

3) Save as much money as you can and get out of debt as quickly as possible.

4) You have saved as much money as possible and get done with the program as quickly as possible.

5) Use a credit repair program to clean things up. (We can point you in the right direction)
